It's Rubbish!

I am constantly surprised by the myriad of items washed up on our beaches.

Not only is there a diverse selection of driftwood but also a wide range of man-made rubbish and pollutants, it is incredibly sad.

Clothes, shoes, drinks cans, aerosols, tyres, plastic bags, plastic objects, fishing rope and tackle....... the list is endless unfortunately.

I keep anything I find that might be useful and that can be incorporated in my sculptures but most has to be thrown away or put in the recycling bin at home.

I always come back from a beach visit with multiple bags of rubbish but always wish I could carry more.

Welcome to my new site.

Hello! My name is Melissa Bastiani and a few years back I had this idea that I wanted to try and make things out of driftwood and beach...
